Mark Wahlberg’s dedication to fitness is no secret.
On Thursday, the 52-year-old Family Plan actor offered another peek into his rigorous 4 a.m. workout routine on Instagram.
In the video, Wahlberg can be seen hitting the gym shirtless, with his trainer motivating him to push through various exercises while explaining the targeted muscles.
The workout included reps of “reverse fly” using a resistance band machine, described by Wahlberg’s trainer as excellent for shoulder stability. Additionally, Wahlberg tackled “double-handed tricep pushdown” reps and a challenging exercise with an ab roller wheel. Despite its difficulty, the trainer praised Wahlberg for making it look effortless, emphasizing its effectiveness for working the abs, lats, triceps, and thighs.
“4 am club with Doc @municipal 🔥😎🥳💯📈,” Wahlberg captioned the post, giving a nod to his athleisure clothing company. While Wahlberg appears consistently motivated for his workouts, he admitted to PEOPLE last month that there are moments when he doesn’t feel like exercising.
“I feel it more often than you think,” he confessed. However, Wahlberg stressed the importance of maintaining his fitness regimen and embracing challenges as part of his lifestyle.
“I don’t want to miss something because if, God forbid, I kind of cut corners, don’t show up, don’t put the work in and I don’t get the results that I want, I know why. I don’t want to live with that regret,” he explained, highlighting his commitment to a strong work ethic and faith.
Wahlberg typically starts his day with a 35-degree cold plunge, which he credits for energizing him and setting the tone for his workouts.
“I’m like, ‘Okay, I’m awake, I’m alive.’ We’re a go right after that,” he said. “So I just go and I do the work.”
Earlier in the week, Wahlberg shared a video on Instagram preparing for an ice bath, signaling the start of another productive day. “Time to fire up the day,” he declared in the clip.
