The British army has reversed its decision regarding Kate Middleton!
Recovering from abdominal surgery, the 42-year-old Princess of Wales was initially listed on the official army website to lead the annual review of soldiers at Horse Guards Parade in London on June 8. This raised expectations of her return to public duties, particularly at the significant event involving 1,400 soldiers, preceding the Trooping the Colour parade the following weekend.
However, on Tuesday, Kensington Palace clarified that they were not consulted about her participation, leading to the removal of Kate’s name from the website selling tickets to the event.
Initially scheduled to conduct the review as the honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards, Kate’s involvement now remains uncertain. The event is crucial as it precedes the Trooping the Colour parade, a tribute to King Charles, also held at Horse Guards Parade, followed by a carriage procession down the Mall from Buckingham Palace.
Meanwhile, the participation of Prince Charles, who is undergoing cancer treatment, is uncertain. While palace planning for such events continues, decisions regarding Charles’ involvement will likely be made closer to the date, given his health concerns.
As Kate recuperates at Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Castle estate, her office stated she won’t resume duties until after Easter, falling on March 31. Considering her children’s school vacation at that time, it’s unlikely she’ll engage in public activities until mid-April, a customary break for Kate and Prince William to spend time with their children.
Despite her recovery, Kate was seen on Monday being driven by her mother, Carole Middleton, after dropping off her children at school. Kensington Palace announced the success of Kate’s surgery on Jan. 17, stating her expected hospital stay and emphasizing her desire for privacy regarding her medical information.
The statement further expressed Kate’s wish for normalcy for her children and the intention of providing updates on her progress only when significant information arises.
