“We’re still separated, but we see each other often, and we’re still a family, we can do things together, we can do things separately. I’m really, really glad that Danny and I were able to navigate some rough days to be able to have this different kind of relationship. I think it’s pretty rare, but we agree on so many things that it makes sense.”

Lucy DeVito is pregnant!
The 40-year-old daughter of Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman is expecting a baby with her fiancé, PEOPLE can confirm.
Lucy’s bundle of joy is due sometime this summer, a representative for the star says.
On Saturday, Perlman, 75, walked the 2024 SAG Awards red carpet with her oldest daughter, who debuted her baby bump in a red dress.
Lucy’s baby will be the second grandchild for Danny and Perlman. In June 2023, the Cheers alum shared on an episode of the Wiser Than Me with Julia Louis-Dreyfus podcast that one of her daughters had a daughter of her own last year.
Perlman didn’t reveal whether the baby’s mom was Lucy or her younger daughter, Grace, 38, but she did tell her granddaughter’s name: Sinclair Lucille DeVito. “They chose to keep the name DeVito even though she’s married and her husband’s last name is not DeVito,” she said.
The Barbie actress also talked about what being a grandmother meant to her. “Everybody said it’ll change your life when you have a grandchild, and it does,” she said.
“There’s a certain love, I mean I felt it when my own children were born, the kind of love I never felt before for anything … But this was a profound kind of feeling, and here it is again. They can do no wrong. Looking at a new human being is so amazing, that people create other people. It’s mind-boggling.”
Lucy and Grace are not the only children of Perlman and Danny. They also have a son, Jacob, who is 36. They started dating in 1971 and tied the knot in January 1982. Perlman and DeVito decided to part ways in October 2012 after being married for 30 years. They got back together in March 2013, but broke up again in March 2017.
Perlman told PEOPLE in 2022 that even though they are not together, she and Danny are still a family.
