During an unexpected appearance on ‘Late Night’ on Monday, President Biden noted, ‘I must say, she did endorse me in 2020,’ in response to Seth Meyers’ inquiries about those conspiracy theories.
President Joe Biden continues to playfully address the conspiracy theories involving himself and Taylor Swift.
During his appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday, Biden, 81, dropped by to commemorate the series’ 10th anniversary. Meyers, 50, wasted no time in probing Biden about whether there was any collaboration between him and Swift, 34.
“Can you confirm or deny the existence of an active conspiracy between you and Miss Swift?” Meyers asked, referring to a theory suggesting that Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, are involved in a scheme to aid the Democrats in the upcoming November 5 election.
“Where are you getting this information? That’s classified. It’s classified information,” Biden responded with a subtle grin, before adding, “But I’ll let you in on a secret, she did endorse me in 2020.”
As Meyers speculated on whether “it might resurface,” Biden quipped, “I told you it’s classified.”
At the beginning of their discussion about Swift, Meyers referenced Biden’s “Dark Brandon” photo that was posted on his account following the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl win on February 11.
The official Instagram account shared a picture of the president with laser beams emanating from his eyes, accompanied by the caption, “Just as we planned it, @Chiefs.”
The post was a playful jab at the unfounded theory suggesting that the Democrats orchestrated the Chiefs’ victory to provide Swift with an opportunity to endorse Biden for the 2024 presidential election.
Prior to the Instagram post, Biden shared his first-ever TikTok video, which also seemed to mock the Swift conspiracy theory. During a segment where he answered various Super Bowl-related questions, an off-camera interviewer asked, “Were the Chiefs intentionally set up to win the Super Bowl, or were they simply a strong team?” Biden grinned and replied, “I might get into trouble if I answered that.”
