Julia Fox steals the spotlight with her bold fashion statement at the 2024 Oscars celebration.
Attending the 32nd Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party in West Hollywood on Sunday, March 10, the 34-year-old turned heads on the red carpet in a daring DSquared2 dress, which left little to the imagination with its revealing neckline.
Paired with black tights and matching heels, Fox’s ensemble was not only attention-grabbing but also a testament to her fearless approach to style.
Completing her look with her signature dark eye makeup and a crimped, wet-look hairstyle, Fox demonstrated her knack for pushing fashion boundaries. This isn’t the first time the model has made headlines for her unique fashion choices.
Earlier in January, at the snowy Sundance Film Festival in Utah, she rocked a white knit two-piece bikini over a black turtleneck catsuit, defying conventional winter wear.
In October 2023, Fox made waves by flaunting her underwear in a fiery red dress. However, despite occasional criticism, Fox remains unapologetically herself and dismisses concerns about dressing for the male gaze.
“Men hate my outfits,” Fox remarked during an interview on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour. “They’re so mad that I’m not like how I was on Uncut Gems. I hear that all the time, but I don’t care … because the girls love it. The girls and the gays love it!”
As a mother to 2-year-old son Valentino, Fox sees her fashion choices as a form of self-expression and empowerment.
“Whether I was realizing it or not, I think my appearance is very much to please the male gaze in a way, and then something happened, I don’t know if it was motherhood or being thrust into the public eye,” she explained.
“I was just like, ‘I don’t want to uphold this anymore.’ I want to dress for the girls, and that’s really who I am.”
Despite the occasional backlash, Fox remains resolute in her fashion choices, encouraging women to embrace their bodies and explore daring styles without fear of judgment.
“People get so, so mad about my outfits,” she noted in an interview with Cosmopolitan. “The response is way crazier than the outfit itself!”
For Fox, fashion is about self-expression and breaking free from societal norms, advocating for women to celebrate their bodies and wear whatever makes them feel confident and empowered.
