TLC’s Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas has officially become a grandmother following the birth of her son, Tron Austin’s, first child with his wife, Jeong Ah Wang.
Sharing the news on Saturday, March 2, 2024, via a joint Instagram post, the couple joyfully announced the arrival of their daughter, LUA婁娥, born at 1:59pm, weighing 6.173 lbs/2.8kg. Alongside a selfie of their new family of three and a picture of their baby’s feet, they expressed their excitement at officially becoming parents.
Detailing the unexpected early arrival of their daughter, Austin, 26, explained that despite their initial due date of March 6th, Jeong Ah’s water broke on the morning of March 2nd, leading to an emergency C-section.
He praised his wife’s bravery and strength throughout the process, expressing immense pride and gratitude as they welcomed their healthy baby girl.
Reflecting on their journey to parenthood, the couple also shared insights into their struggles with infertility and the IVF process, expressing resilience and gratitude for the blessing of their daughter.
While Chilli, 53, has yet to publicly comment on her new role as a grandmother, she has previously showcased the strong bond she shares with her son, Tron. As Tron celebrated his birthday in June 2023, Chilli posted a heartfelt tribute, underscoring her deep love and pride as a mother.
Regarding her own plans for expanding her family, Chilli has discussed the topic with her current boyfriend, Matthew Lawrence.
However, Lawrence has emphasized the importance of not rushing into such decisions, acknowledging Chilli’s incredible parenting of her son and expressing openness to the idea of parenthood in the future.
